I was using the macro lens in the garden (again), set on manual, aiming to get a precise focus on whatever it was. Ahh, a bee landed on the basil flower. Perfect. When I sat down to edit the images, I realised the level of detail I had on the bee … because of course, I was standing at a respectful distance. Seeing the bee’s eye, its bee’s knees and all its limbs in high definition gave me a case of the heebie-jeebies. Grimace.

That’s what macro is about – detail. 🙂 Really nice photo. You were lucky there was no breeze.
Ha yes, you’ve pointed out the obvious about macro. Still, I hadn’t expected to be startled in seeing all its bits.
I love macro and for just that reason! I’ve been enjoying a program set in the 1920’s and my cocktail of the week has been a pre-prohibition cocktail, the Bee’s Knees. You’ve given me some real bee’s knees to toast to.
Ooh, I had to look up the cocktail. Gin, honey and lemon juice. It sounds very health-giving. Ha ! Thanks for telling me about it.
