On this weekly challenge, I wondered whether I should go for an extraordinary wall or an ordinary wall … and as you can see, I decided on the latter. After all, photography is about making the ordinary look more interesting. And I think this wall makes the washing look whiter !

Laundry hanging on a line is so peaceful to me. It’s why I hang out my wash. π
There’s something about the smell of laundry that’s been hung out to dry that you can’t replace with sticking things in the dryer !
I absoloutely LOVE your choice. Can’t say why but I do π Something about white on white I guess.
Thank you for such lovely words. And looking at my picture with snow-tinted eyes!
LOVE the shadows!! And you’re right about the laundry π
If only I could get my own laundry whiter simply by hanging it against an appropriate wall !
LOL!!
Agreed! Fun take on the challenge. Thanks for the smile π
My pleasure, especially if it found a smile !
I think this is a beautiful photo that celebrates and highlights the beauty found in the ordinary. Well done!

Thanks Janet. It would’ve been easier to go with an extraordinary wall, but I wanted to try and find something a bit more evocative. I don’t know if I necessarily succeeded, but it was a bit more challenging.
Actually, it’s a very interesting scene. I can imagine a woman dressed in black, slaving over an old style washing basket/bucket, and scrubbing the clothes.
What a great imagination. I never saw the person hang out the laundry, but I’m with you on that story.
