We spent a lot of the time in the middle of the clouds when we were high up in the Kaçkar mountains. Many days were misty, and we could barely see the silhouettes of the trees lining the road. At first I didn’t like photographing in the mist because it obscured everything. But after a fashion – and watching what the others were doing – I came to appreciate its ethereal beauty.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

Really peaceful and beautiful. Zen soup.
Zen Soup. I love that phrasing ! And thank you.
You know what I love about this shot? Let me count the ways 🙂 First, it’s an image different from any I’ve seen submitted for the challenge – I love uniqueness 🙂 Second, it’s beautiful simplicity – no bells or whistles, just the fog casting its wonderful softness on to the trees. Third, the just-barley-there-green of the leaves. Fourth, the touch of the light sky peeking out here and there. And, fifth, I can actually hear the wonderful silence that is part of a scene like this. Just fantastic all ’round!
Ah those are just the loveliest words yet!!
LOVE the imagery in this capture – conjures up so many possibilities – some good – some not so good, lol! 🙂
Absolutely!
Lovely photo. Fog does have a wonderful effect on light. A great time to photograph sunbeams if you can find them as the fog clears too.
Ooh yes. Sunbeams when the fog is clearing could look like a religious epiphany !
Love this capture – honestly beautiful. Really emotionally evocative–wonderful entry!
Thank you very much ! I like it too and it resonates with me because I had a bit of trouble deciding what type of photo to take in the mist.
So ethereal. Lovely.
Thank you !
Wow – that is so eerie!!
I agree, it is quite ghostly … even in person !
